My kids (Parker, 6 at the time, and Matilda, 4) came to me just before Christmas with the grand idea to share a room. They were giddy with excitement, so it wasn't hard to agree and celebrate with them.
So, I asked what they envisioned, what they wanted in a room together. Parker wanted green walls, Matilda wanted lots of orange, and they both wanted bunk beds and glow in the dark stars on the ceiling.
We worked with that! But if we were going to do "space" as a theme, I wanted it to be non-traditional. I was thrilled when my husband found these free prints from NASA. They are colorful and futuristic, what more could I ask for?!
Next, I when to the Sherwin Williams website, uploaded my favorite prints and matched colors for the walls directly from prints. I will post more about the colorful wall, exact paints we used, and how we achieved the look in another post.
Last, I built two beautiful frames with Simply Framed that would fit right above my father's childhood dresser, which I painted. As soon the frames went up on the walls, everything else fell into place. We seriously could not love this space more!
This post was made in partnership with Simply Famed, but all opinions are my own!
