I knew I wanted to make Matilda a rainbow sweatshirt and so I purchased this white sweatshirt from Walmart for less than $5. But, I also knew that I didn't want the sweatshirt to become stiff with thick paint. The solution I came up with might just be my new favorite thing!
Here is how you can make your own!
Supplies: white sweatshirt, acrylic paints in rainbow colors, water, paintbrush.
Process: The trick I used was to water down the acrylic paints. I simply added a few drops of water to a pea-sized amount of paint and mixed well. Starting at the base of the rainbow, I made one smooth motion in the shape of a rainbow onto the sweatshirt. As I added each color, I overlapped generously with the previous color. Once the rainbow was complete, I threw it in the dryer for a bit to set the paint. That is it!
Time: This entire project took me about 10 minutes! And, I absolutely love the results! Can you tell by my excessive use of the exclamation point?!
