The year that Matilda was in the hospital for Thanksgiving represents a shift in my understanding of the holiday itself. What once was about indulging in food, spending time with family, and afternoon naps is now about the celebration of life itself and nothing more.
We had a lovely holiday full of laughter, love, thanks, and giving.
