We signed Parker up for a soccer league towards the end of the summer. It is safe to say that he is excited about it. My worry is that he won't like playing once it involves other children all chasing and kicking after one ball. My hope is that he will grow new friendships, practice patience and teamwork, and, of course, fall in love with such an active and healthy sport.
So tell me, experienced parents out there, how do you balance your worries with your hopes? And if you child doesn't like a sport or activity because of one reason or another, do you teach them perseverance and to push through, or do you let them find what works for them in their own time?
I will keep you updated. With my fingers crossed!
