Parker has always been Mr. Independent. He loves to learn and conquer tasks all by himself, like popping popcorn in the microwave, doing the laundry, and brewing a steaming cup of hot chocolate in the Keurig. On paper that sounds like a dream.
But in reality, it can be very frustrating. He wants so baldy to get things right, that sometimes he loses sight of his goal and turns back into a three-year-old. A three-year-old that can't always reach what he needs, a three-year-old that doesn't want to nap, a three-year-old that needs his mom.
At school they have been working on getting dressed (in and out of snow gear), and Parker simply will not try. We all know he can, he has done it before. But that stubborn part of him that hates defeat is taking over my Mr. Independent.
I am brainstorming ideas on how to change this, and I would love suggestions from you! As a teacher, I knew all the solutions, but as a mom, things are different.
