So in case you had not heard, there has been a heat wave here in New York. It is not just the heat but the humidity - it really makes it hot. Not Australia-while-nine-months-pregnant hot, but too hot to have Matilda outside much.
My solution has been leaving the house bright and early to play hard at the park. This makes justifying relaxing in air conditioning all afternoon on a perfectly good summer day a little bit easier.
At 8a the park is empty. It is nice. I can park Matilda and play with Parker without having to worry about kids lingering or grownups pinching cheeks. Do I even have to mention how quiet the house is during afternoon siesta?! This might just become our normal routine.
