father's day 2013

As much as I hated being away from Matilda while I walked to the RMH every few days to shower, it also granted me the opportunity to process, cry, and begin again. For four months I walked by the same buildings, doormen, shops, and corners. The anxiety that lingered began to grow lighter because the consistency of my route brought comfort. One diner in particular always caught my eye. It had floor to ceiling windows - the people always seemed happy and the food full of comfort.

So for Father's Day, I was excited to take Tyler out for brunch at that same diner. I fought back tears almost the entire time. There was so much meaning behind a warm meal at a familiar place. It was a day to celebrate the love that Tyler has for his children, his family.

Thank you, Tyler, for being the best Papa around.
