
It's not like we can just sit her somewhere and walk away yet, but Matilda is sitting! I tried to take her photo with a milestone card, but she kept slumping over to look at the card which ended with a little scratch on her head. Then I felt like a horrible mother and decided I better try again when she is a bit more practiced.
The funny thing is that for a brief moment I thought "oh no, I caused her first injury" and then I remembered that only four months ago she was lying before me on a table with nothing between me and her internal organs but some surgical wrap. In truth, Matilda has endured countless injuries.
It is nice to think that I can forget about all of that, even for just a moment, and consider her to be a normal healthy baby.
